Karen L. Joubert, PT, Owner
Karen received her bachelor’s degree from Mount St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles. Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist, she competed 18 years in figure skating and was a featured performer with the Ice Capades.
           In addition to being owner of Joubert Physical Therapy, Karen was one of the co-founders of Elite Physical Therapy. Karen’s
experience as a top-ranked athlete gives her the insight to motivate and progress her patients to achieve their goals. Karen was fortunate to develop her manual therapy skills and expertise with many skilled clinicians in numerous Southern California Institutes. These include Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic and Daniel Freeman Memorial, where she also served as an advisor on several research panels. Karen was a member of the medical staff for the 2002 State Farm United States Figure Skating Championships.
           She has mentored with many other key instructors worldwide. Over the past three years she has worked with Danielle Raggi in Milan, Italy. Their goal was to introduce his techniques and philosophy into the United States, many of which Joubert uses today. Karen enjoys the opportunity to work together with both the patient and the physician to promote well-being and self-management of all types of injuries from migraines to chronic ankle sprains.
           Her background also includes treating members of the NBA and NFL, Olympic Figure Skaters and Wimbledon Champions. Karen also serves as Clinical Instructor/Mentor for students enrolled in Physical Therapy programs nationwide.

Cynthia M. Reeder, MPT
Cynthia is a graduate of Chapman University’s Master of Physical Therapy program. She also received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences at the University of California, Irvine. Cynthia has developed her expertise in manual therapy over the years of
training with expert clinicians from around the world. Cynthia has been working alongside Karen Joubert since 1998.
           Cynthia has worked with a wide range of pathologies from acute injuries, pain in pregnancy, to chronic back pain and headaches. She has also worked with sports injuries with members of the NFL, World Cup Soccer Team, MLS and Wimbledon Champions. Cynthia also
has a focus in alternative therapies including Pilates, yoga and the Raggi method from Italy emphasizing diaphragmatic breathing, body symmetry and balance.

Esther Lee, DPT
Esther graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science/Pre-Physical Therapy. She
also earned her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Chapman University in Orange, California.
           Her professional experience as a physical therapist began at CHART Rehabilitation, an outpatient orthopedic clinic specializing in workmen’s compensation rehabilitation in Honolulu, Hawaii.
           Esther has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2002. Her comprehensive clinical experience includes sports, neurological, acute, and pediatric rehabilitation and wound care. Esther’s interests and passions are in manual and sports therapy, playing volleyball, running, snowboarding and traveling.

Robert E. Adams, MPT
Robert graduated with his Master’s degree from the Institute of Physical Therapy in St. Augustine, Florida. He has a strong orthopedic manual therapy background, as well as neurological rehabilitation and aquatic therapies. Robert has worked alongside Karen Joubert since moving to Los Angeles in 2000, and helped to establish the Beverly Hills clinic.
           As a former competitive swimmer, marathon runner and triathlete, Robert understands the importance of proper exercise and nutrition as part of achieving fitness goals and optimal health. He continues to be involved in community fitness and charity programs, including the Leukemia Society, AIDS Rides and LA Leggers.

Darla McNiel, LMT, General Manager
Darla has more than 20 years of experience in the health and fitness fields and is currently the General Manager of Joubert Physical Therapy in Beverly Hills. She supervises all medical insurance billing, creates marketing strategies and troubleshoots business functions.
           Her management background includes coordination and project supervision of broadcast projects for New Wave Entertainment, Big Screen Ideas and the television show “Hollywood Insider.” Darla also has an extensive background as an elite athlete specializing in
gymnastics and has instructed in all realms from dance to gymnastics.
           In addition, she is a Licensed Massage Therapist working with patients during their rehabilitation.
